I am use to using a number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard, so it's taking me some time to get use to having to type the numbers from the top row, but with a laptop this size I don't think it would be possible to include it. Dell Inspiron i14RN-1227BK Anyway, very pleased with the laptop, and I would recommended it to anyone that wants a small affordable laptop to get common computer tasks completed.

The new one's battery has been lasting something under one and one-half hours, I think. Amazon delivered it quickly and in good shape. It runs with Windows 7 my old programs and new ones too. I had thought I would like to wait until Windows 8, to get a new computer, but I could not stand the old computer's slow and faulty running any longer. Sony VAIO VPCEH34FX/B 15.5-Inch Laptop

Sony VAIO VPCEH34FX/B I got this to use as a personal laptop, apart from my work laptop. It was very reasonably priced for a solid Sony Vaio. Using a 12.5 inch laptop for work, I was caught off-guard at how big a 15.5" really is. That said, I intend to travel with it infrequently, so don't see the size as a disadvantage. Rather, it gives me a nice big screen without needing a separate monitor. The PC also has a relatively short battery life, only a few hours, but, again, since I don't intend to travel much with it, I can just make sure to work with it plugged in.

While some people have complained about the texture of the trackpad, I quite like it. And I like even more the smooth, textured surface of the laptop itself. Sony VAIO VPCEH34FX/B The off-center trackpad takes a little time to get used to, but is definitely not a major detriment for me. It's great to have the integrated DVD/CD player, which is increasing omitted from smaller laptops.

Acer Aspire AS5750Z-4835 I took a long time when deciding which laptop to go with and am VERY VERY happy with my decision. Originally I was going to go with the Sony Vaio, which is by no means a bad computer. After talking to some friends 3/4 suggested the acer over the Vaio because of the screen size and quality. Acer Aspire AS5750Z-4835 I don't think I know anybody who's had real issues besides the battery with an Acer Aspire. I love the keyboard and the mouse could use some improvement, but no complaints since I have a USB one anyways. Would buy another Aspire in a heartbeat!

Samsung Series 5 NP530U4B-A01US The company I work for just bought two of these and put me in charge to prepare them for some co-workers. This laptop is very sexy looking. It's very lightweight. It does have a SSD that the OS comes on so it boots up very, very fast. There is hardly any preinstalled crap that I had to remove from them; about half a dozen Samsung programs, Norton, games, etc. I was able to get these two laptops all prepared (install Chrome, Microsoft Security Essentials, Office, Windows updates) in just over two hours. With that being said, these laptops put out some serious heat. Personally, Samsung Series 5 NP530U4B-A01US I almost never have my laptop on my lap, so that part doesn't bother me.
